Cabin ruins: Landåsfjellet - Part 2
A return to Landåsfjellet to visit some of the ruins I had either skipped on my last visit or where I had been uncertain of the location. First up was Norheim, where I had an approximate location from Bergensernes Fjellverden II (BF II), which combined with the accompanying pictures enabled me to quickly locate a location that seemed to match. Only very weak traces left of the cabin itself.
Next, I moved on to Bryterhytten, again making good use of the information in BF II and easily locating the weak traces of the cabin. Limited traces here as well. The cold wind had now started to pick up, so I did not stay long, and even forgot to visit the summit of Orrehaugane, before moving on to Fjellro.
Fjellro was one of those location I was sure I had visited on my previous visit, but where I was not sure of the exact location. This time I had brought (digital versions of) the black and white photographs from BF II and the relatively exact location could be verified. No remaining traces of the cabin that I could find though.
The final cabin ruin on my list was Landåshytten, a cabin I had failed to find any traces of on my last hike. I therefore again headed to the small lake called Sleirevannet, where I'd found traces of what is most likely Østerbøhytten, as Landåshytten, according to BF II, was located only 60 meters (most likely towards the west) from Østerbøhytten. Pretty sure I was in the right area even though only very limited traces could be found. The location was later confirmed by knutsverre (Knut S. Andersen): Landåsfjellet.
Given that it now had started snowing (in mid May!), I shortly started my descent, passing by Tryggheim on my way down to Sollien.
