Trip Summary

Was man nicht im Kopf hat, hat man (hoffentlich) in den Beinen, sagt man. I had left something at work, which I wished to use, and since the weather was quite OK, I thought that I could combine the necessary with some biking. I started by surrounding Bønes on its south (north of Nordåsvatnet), heading eastwards. North of Gamlehaugen, when arriving at Fjøsanger, I decided that I could visit Storetveit kirke, which I had seen numerous times while biking either to or from work, but never really visited up-close. Then, I continued further northwards towards the center of Bergen. After picking up my stuff, I then thought that I could equally well continue this "round around Fyllingsdalen", aiming at Laksevåg, next. After passing over Nygårdshøyden and Puddefjordsbroen, I then followed the main route for cyclists towards the northwest. Once around Noven (near Holen), I then cycled in southwestern direction towards Lyngbøvatnet and Liavatnet. This brought me into Bjørndalen, where I took the upper route via Ravnestølen to get to Bjørgeveien. On my way southwards on Bjørgeveien, I then decided to pay a little hill in the east of Bjørndalsskogen a short visit (it's only a few meters up anyway). Since I was in "hill mode" by this time, I thereafter explored the hill near Sæleidet, from which one actually has a quite nice view across Bjørndalsvatnet. Aller guter Dinge sind drei, sagt man. Thus, I also took a look at Botnahaugen (not much to see from this hill, though). Altogether, I still returned home satisfied with this necessity-exercise combination. :-)
