Peakbook.org was originally created in norway and aimed at norwegian mountains, but along the way it has been developed with flexibility and multilanguage support in mind. As a result of this peakbook.org should be able to work in different regions under different languages with minor adjustments.
Having prepared the software for this, we are of course hoping to test this out. We are looking for anybody (probably a devoted peakbagger, mountain lover or something like this) who could be some sort of an arrowhead into new regions and languages.
So if you or someone you know (don't hesitate to inform this someone) might be the right person, then it would be really great to:
- Have peakbook.org translated into more languages. French, spanish, italian and swedish are languages that come to mind, but really any language would be interesting. In addition our english version quite desperately need an overhaul from somebody competent.
- Get in touch with local representatives who could front and perhaps run regional versions of peakbook.org. This is still a bit on the drawing board, but it will likely be in the form of different portals tailored for different languages and regions.
