Breikågen

Date:
17.09.2019

We were supposed to head up to Store kågtinden, but the summit was inside clouds. Breikågen looked worth to go up. I thought that we could go to summit from back of the fjell, but there is also possible to go up straight from harbour. And so we did. Steep and short climb. About 40 degrees. Halo. Sunset behind the Breikågen and Arnoya from summer trip. After a good day of trekking, lady aurora showed us few moves.

Falsnestinden

Date:
29.07.2019

I started an vanlife trip number 4 to Lyngen alps from Lappeenranta, Southern Finland. Few friends joined me after few days in Kilpisjärvi. Then we headed down for the Skibotn and thought that the weather is maeby good enough to climb one peak that has been bullying me for several years. After my service for finnish army, i decided to do something to remember for rest of my life. In 2016 i headed up to north and wanted to climb mountains. I selected one peak to summit and that was the Falsentinden. If i knew what kind of peak it was, i would chose differend one, but this was the one i choose. I had eaten way less than i supposed to and my aerobic capacity was way too low for this one. But still.. i pushed up to about 800m. I was shaking and really lost with my mind and i was thinking is this >>>

One of our random targets on our vanlife trip. We drove from Lappeenranta, southern Finland up to Lyngen peninsula. One day we drove to Nord Lenangen and decided to pick one of the peaks to climb. The one was this. I took an dump on a shit house. Had some kind of diarrhea.. But i still had some power left after that so we headed up towards the Ruossavarri summit. Both of us had about 20kg of camera gear on our bags. Hear is the video presentation from the whole trip! --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZO3e4F8O_go Lagopus muta The Summit As we say in finland. Pönö. We descended with one headlight slowly from a stone after another. But after all we managed to get back to our camp and what an lightshow we had then.. Grainy shot of our rolling home.

Store Kjostinden (not summited)

Date:
18.09.2018

Vanlife trip from Lappeenranta, southern Finland continues. Expedition minded ascent for the Store Kjostinden. We climbed just to see, if its possible maeby to climb up to summit some day on summer time..? Despite the bad weather, we decided to head up. Ended up about 900m on time of the sunset. Took some drone shots for the video and i took some stills with dslr. Here is the end result of the video for the whole trip! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZO3e4F8O_go The ascent was simple but there were bit more loose sand and rocks than i thought. Descenting almost like skiing on loose sand. Clouds were about on 1000m masl. 900masl was an perfect spot to turn around and take a little brake before heading back down. My climbing partner and video creator coming up slowly but steady. Clouds were passing by. Snow! Awesome! More of Pönöing. Again, >>>
