Unitarian Youth Expedition 1961

I was assistant leader of this young party of school boys led by our minister Keith Treacher. It was an amazingly committing expedition. We drove to Øye in two cars from N England taking five days (I'd only just passed my driving test). We were not allowed to camp but were invited to stay, extremely cheaply, at the Øye Hotel. We climbed Risenosa and Konehorn, Slogen (by two routes), Smörskretind, Urkedalstind and Vellesaetrehorn, and I added a solo ascent of Saksa. Brilliant experience.
