We had a day of sightseeing in south Senja & Hamn today and took a quick trip up Sukkertoppen. Excellent trail leading all the way to the top, really well marked and easy to follow. The last 50 meters of elevation got quite sandy and exposed, particularly on the right hand side of the trail where the mountain dropped steeply into the fjord. Lani’s fear of hights got the better of her here, but there is chains bolted in to help the scramble up. We walked down to a nice resting spot and Lani waited here enjoying the views over Hamn and from here I continued to the top. We ran down a decent section of the trail as the terrain was great.
