Hylkje to Haukås via Stuhaugen and Jonsterhaug søyle

I had come across a potential new candidate for the Søyler (fastmerker) i Bergen list at Hylkjeneset and decided to have a closer look as the information at bergenskart.no did not reveal the type of trig marker. From the bus stop at Hylkje I followed the roads to Hylkjeneset and the marked trailhead for Geitskaret. The marked trail provided excellent views across Sørfjorden to Osterøy but did not pass by the highest point at the small hill Stuhaugen where the trig marker was supposed to be (now added as its own PB-element). However, just as I was about to leave the trail and head the final short off-trail distance to the summit I did came across a trig marker, but not of the kind I had expected and not at the correct location. In the report from my visit of Bjørnåsen in 2021 I had commented that the trail seemed to continue towards a slightly lower hill to the north called Fuglen and that perhaps this had to be explored one day. With Fuglen recently having been added as its own PB-element, that day had arrived. This time I arrived on foot via the cycling and walking path from the bus stop at Kalandseidet. I first followed the same trail as last time to Bjørnåsen and from there continued north in the direction of Fuglen. While there was a weak trail, and even some trail markers, I quickly lost the trail and was left finding my own way. The terrain however did not present any challenges and the highest point of Fuglen was easily reached. On a gray Sunday where the rain showers did their best to melt the recent snow and make all surfaces slippery, I once again turned to the Alle topper i Bergen list and decided on two minor hills just east of Sotrabroen. First up was Alvehaugen which could be spotted immediately after getting off the bus. Getting to the summit however required a bit more work but could be fairly easily done via a short off-trail ascent from the north. I descended the same way and headed the short distance south to Høyde ved Janaflaten . Here the ascent was easier than expected as most of the trees shown covering the summit in previous trip reports had been removed and it was now simply a matter of walking up to the highest point. Hordnesskogen from Stend to Lagunen

I started by taking the bus to Stend and walking southwest along the road to Hordnes. After a quick visit of Hordnes søyle I followed the gravel road north to Skinfloren in an increasingly heavy snow shower. From there I continued north to Storåsen which could easily be ascended via a minor detour from the roads/trails (now added as its own PB-element), however the summit did not provide much with regards to views. After descending north from Storåsen I started my ascent to Sauhaugen , a recent addition to the Alle topper i Bergen list . At first there was a narrow trail/deer track to follow but as I got closer to the summit the trail got weaker and later disappeared altogether. By then I was less than 100 meters from the summit anyway and could easily complete the remaining distance. Also this summit had limited views and I quickly started my descent. Reconnecting >>>

Orresiktet, Langaneset and Peneset

On a wet and gray Saturday I settled on a short hike with the main objective of visiting yet another minor hill on the Alle topper i Bergen list , namely Vest for Orresiktet . After taking the bus to Vadmyra I walked the short distance west to Hetlevikåsen where I easily located an unmarked trail down to Langaneset. Before ascending off-trail to Vest for Orresiktet I made the short detour to the real Orresiktet, a slightly lower hill to the east. Both provided limited views across different parts of Storavatnet but were not the most interesting locations. In order to extend an otherwise very short hike, I decided to also explore Langaneset, starting with a brief off-trail visit of Revekulten (62 m, PF of around 14). When my initial plan of going skiing was abandoned due to temperatures down to minus 30 for the considered summits, I decided to instead go for a walk below the snow and visit two minor summits on the Alle topper i Bergen list . I started by taking the bus to Nordvik and getting off at "Nordvik Nord". From there I followed the road west towards Heggvik where I located an unmarked trailhead at the point where the road forks for the last time. The trail was weak and probably rather wet at warmer parts of the year. I was therefore surprised when later coming across several red trail markers. It however quickly became clear that these were not leading me in the right direction (perhaps rather heading to Særvika?). After backtracking to the last fork of the trail I continued on an unmarked trail towards Hisdalsvatnet.
