Trip Summary

We got onto our bikes on Værøyna and headed westwards into the direction of Bulandet along Nordsjøvegen. After crossing over several bridges, we made our first stop on Gjørøyna to take a look at "Ro" by artist Geir Hjetland. From there, we continued further southwestwards until we "hit" the end of the road at Halsøy. There, we stepped up to Slotteholmen to enjoy some views. We then biked over to Nikkjøyna and from there further to Hellersøyna, where we walked a little bit southwards to see the sculpture of Berte and Hansine. Then, we biked back to Værøyna (along the same road that we had taken to Bulandet, i.e., Nordsjøvegen). At Værøyna, we had a brief discussion and decided that only one of us would also include the short hike up to Høgkletten. I thus biked to Soknavågsvegen and parked my bike in the west of Børekletten. Per pedes, I then passed by Midtkletten in its north in order to get to the trail-head for the ascent to Høgkletten right in the north of this hill. Following the well-maintained trail up to the top of Høgkletten did not take long. After enjoying the views, I then headed back down the same trail. On my way back to the bike, I decided to quickly include an ascent to Midtkletten, also. Even though these hills are not very high, they are quite steep some some (most) sides -- any attempt to hike them off-trail thus should be done with some care. Back on my bike, it was then just to get back to the others. Værlandet and Bulandet are definitely nice biking areas (not much traffic, not much up and down, etc.).
