Bjørndalskamben and Sollifjellet
I was lucky to hitch a ride to Kvassdalen and was dropped off next to the unmarked trailhead for Bjørndalen. The first part of the ascent looked very steep but thanks to earlier trip reports, e.g. Arnt's external trip report, I was pretty sure that it would be ok. As expected, the trail was steep but did not present any real challenges, although it may not be for everyone due to a couple of semi-exposed sections.
After the initial steep ascent, the terrain levelled off and I followed a nice trail along the river to Bjørndalen for the first look at Bjørndalskamben. The trail continued south, I however made a detour for better views into Kvassdalen. Upon reconnecting with the trail I did not stay on it for long and instead followed various sheep tracks. There were occasional cairns but no trail as far as I could tell. Closer to the summit, small cairns easily led the way up to the summit plateau and the much larger summit cairn. After signing the visitor register, I had a short lunch break enjoying the excellent views.
From Bjørndalskamben, I first returned south along the summit plateau before heading southeast along the ridge into Reppaskaret. There were a couple of steep areas to avoid but otherwise the descent was straightforward. The following ascent up to Sollifjellet was also easy and the summit was reached without any issues. (Note that Sollifjellet does not appear on the map, nor could I find any mentions of it except on PB.)
Before descending from Sollifjellet, I made a short detour to a larger cairn to the south. Here I had a short break before turning back and descending the same way to south of Reppaskaret and then finding my own way via the rather wet Reppabotn to Reppane. I later discovered that perhaps there is a trail that would have maybe made for a better route, see this trip report from 2019.
After chasing away lots of contact-seeking sheep at Reppane, I continued southwest to Revhaugen. While the map here indicates a trail, I failed to locate the trailhead and when later coming across the trail it was overall disappointingly wet and muddy. It did however simplify the progress and before long I arrived at the gravel road at Revhaugen. All that remained was then the walk down to the main road and the short distance to the bus stop outside Vossestrand Hotel.
To conclude, a nice hike with great views along the way and overall in easy terrain, however the route down to Reppane can, as detailed above, probably be improved upon. If having slightly more time, a visit of Solheimsfjellet should also be considered.
