The Torfinnstind traverse (West to East) (27.08.2022)

Myself and two friends (E & V) took the boat from Eidsbugarden to Torfinnsbu the day before our trip.

We woke up early and headed westwards for approximate 2 km, and then we went nordiwards. Approximately 400 m before the summit of Vestre Torfinnstinden we accidentally triggered a small rockslide (be aware of loose rocks).

We then headed down from the first summit into a gully and climbed 2-3 rope lengths to reach Midtre Torfinnsitnden. We did the first rope length taking the southern most variant, finding it difficult to figure out if we were on-route or not.

After reaching the summit, we down climbed a section of loose small rocks which felt a bit sketchy in high shaft mountain boots. The climb up to Øystre Torfinnstinden was quite easy. We struggled a bit for some time trying to find the correct path down from the mountain. The GPX track helped a lot. The path down had sections of loose rocks, and we took our time.

We arrived late in the evening at Torfinnsbu, and took the boat back the next morning.
