This trip up to Karltinden was my first "svart" ti på topp of the season. I went with my oldest boy and his friend. The mosquitoes were biting allready as we stepped out of the car so we started at a brisk pace and after getting through the wet areas they boys left me behind. I was sweating and panting and doing all I could to make it up the steep start. Eventually when we got to the "valley" between the two mountain tops i caught up and, after finally warming up, my pace started to increase while they slowed down. The last half of the hike was very rocky and for my boy a bit scary walking so close to the steep drop offs, but for me it was a fantastic trip to the top. After a small bite to eat and some wandering around we headed down. I took a little detour to musnestinden while they made a beeline for the valley. I rolled my ankel pretty badly on the way back down (I was trying to catch them). With my ankel throbbing I caught up and we all made it down the steep part together. Back at the car we quickly jumped in to get away from the bugs and made our way home. Probably one of the most spectacular trips of the season and i cant wait to get up here again.
