Trip Summary

Aiming at something short, we decided to visit Løvstakken. To make this a bit interesting, we decided to park near Storavatnet at Krohnegården and then aim for the "diretissima" to Løvstakken (from Rosenlundveien). The new piece of this connection was the part between Storavatnet/Krohnegården, leading up to Rosenlundveien directly from Storavatnet (via Bustingen). Trying this connection for the first time, we found out that it's easy to find and straight-forward to follow: after first stepping up along the little road, which is serving two or three houses up there, one finds a trail at about 175mosl, which then connects to Rosenlundveien just a few meters from where the "diretissima" trail to Løvstakken starts. Definitely a good find, easing the hiking of a short round over Løvstakken from Krohnegården. About half an hour after starting from Krohnegården, we arrived at the top of Løvstakken (and up there, we clearly were not alone on this nice autumn day!). Without a real rest, we turned back almost immediately, starting our descent to Krohnegården (via Nova). First, one follows the same trail down, which we just had come up, before at about 425mosl the trails split and one needs to find the minor / obviously not so much used trail towards Nova. Once down to about 400mosl, one arrives at the edge of Nova and can enjoy excellent views down to Fyllingsdalen and Storavatnet. From there, it's then just down along the side of Løvstakken (in northern direction), before one arrives at some flatter (and usually very wet) terrain, just above the little waterfall, which is close to the main trail that comes down there from Ravnefjellet. At about 225mosl, one wakes out the little valleys there before connecting to the main tail. From there, it's then straight-forward downwards (and back to the car).
