On Christmas Day I discovered that a total of eight new minor peaks had been added to the Alle topper i Bergen list during Christmas Eve. Perfect for exploration during a gray and wet Christmas holiday. I decided to start with the two new peaks east of Bahus and after a short walk along Engevikvegen, I left the road and completed the short final off-trail ascent to the summit of Engjeviksrinden . There were plenty of deer tracks and the highest point was thus easily located. The limited views however made for a short visit.
I returned to the road via a more direct route and immediately started the ascent to Høghaugen via various deer tracks that took me almost all the way to the summit. Here there were at least three competing highest points, hence I simply visited all of them. Limited views here as well, although the low-hanging clouds >>>
Liafjellet and Havrheia

A revisit of Liafjellet in Os due to the summit recently having been correctly moved around 70 meter east form the large cairn to a small hill next right next to the trail that is about 2 meters higher. The exact highest point is not straightforward to identify due to the relatively dense vegetation but at least the summit area is easy to get to. After visiting the most likely summit locations I continued to the large cairn before doubling back and starting my descent via the small hill Havrheia . Note that while the map does not indicate a trail across Havrheia, I was in fact on a trail the whole time, and at the end connected with the gravel road down to Ytre Moberg. From there I followed the roads to Osøyro for the bus back to Bergen.

After our ascent of Røyrfjellet Øst , Petter and I drove south to Bjørnafjorden for a visit of Vågahovda - a recent addition to the Bjørnafjorden ≥ 100m pf. list with no previously reported ascents. We found parking at the start of Austefjordvegen just southeast of the summit and after crossing the main road we began our ascent.
No trails but there were plenty of deer tracks making the progress relatively straightforward. On our way to the highest point we made a short detour to where Vågahovda was indicated on the map. Here we came across a fallen trig marker. From there we completed the rest of the distance to the summit, or rather summits, as there were at least two options. There is also a third option about 100 meters to the west, however the lidar data indicates that this point is around 20 cm lower (but may still be worth a visit due to potentially better views?). >>>

With the recent discovery that Røyrfjellet Øst is in fact higher than Storafjellet , it was clear that this peak also had to be visited. Petter picked me up at my place and together we drove to Kvitingsvatnet with the plan to drive as far up the gravel road to Svartavatnet/Holmavatnet as possible. At the top of Renneberget we found parking next to the road and continued on foot. We probably could have driven further but decided not to take any chances due to the snow-covered road with potential ice underneath.
Upon arriving at the small parking lot at the south side of the Svartavatnet/Holmavatnet dam we tried to follow the marked trail but quickly gave up as the snow was hiding most of the red T's and instead found our own way. Besides a couple of minor challenges we made it past the initial steep area and could from there >>>

A return to Fitjar to recomplete the Fitjar ≥ 100m pf. list after Kinno and Beintjørnvarden recently had lost their spots on the list. I took the bus and ferry to Stord and got off at the stop "Vistvik vest". After a short walk along the road, I continued on the snow-covered gravel road towards Kvernavatnet , which turned into a trail about halfway to the lake.
Until Kvernavatnet I had been following the footprints of two other hikers, but at the shelter next to the lake our ways parted and from there on I would not see any footprints but my own until returning to Kvernavatnet towards the end of the hike. When arriving at Svartavatnet I made a quick visit of Kjeringjo before following the marked trail towards Kinno, although with the occasional off-trail shortcut.
The new highest point at Kinno, referred to as Kinno Nordøst was easily located and only required >>>

After the recent discovery of a new peak in Lindås with a vertical separation of more than 100 meters a return to Lindås was required to recomplete the Lindås ≥ 100m pf. list . A perfect task for a gray Sunday in the middle of November.
I started by taking the bus (or rather buses, three in total) and got off at the stop "Knarvik nord, Alver" and from there walked the short distance to the marked trailhead for Hellestveitnova . At the trailhead there was a nice wooden sign indicating several vantage points with views in different directions, but either I missed them all or the sign was put up before the trees grew tall enough to hide the views.
The trail was marked by plastic bands that made it straightforward to arrive at Hellestveitnova, only requiring a minor detour from the main trail. I continued northwest towards Storenipa , still following the markers. There were a couple of hiking signs, but as none of them included >>>

A return to Fløyfjellet to try out a (for me) new trail I had come across in connection with last weekend's shortcut up from Skredderdalen . After ascending from Vågen via Fløyen to Fløyfjellet, I therefore followed the above-mentioned trail down the valley north/northeast of Fløyfjellet where I at the end connected with the gravel road in Skredderdalen. Overall a positive discovery and a trail that I will probably use again in the future. The hike was concluded by following Fjellveien north to Munkebotn, from where I took the bus home to Lønborg.
Jordalsnuten from Jordalstunnelen

After the hike to Kjøroldenuten and Nosafjellet , Petter and I drove the short distance south to the top of Jordalstunnelen. Here we found parking next to the road and followed a similar shortcut as other hikers have done in order to quickly connect with the trail to Jordalsnuten . This included a short off-trail ascent starting from just west of the tunnel opening but it did not take long before we located the trail which could then easily be followed all the way to Hyllandsskaret .
While we had started out in quite dense fog, we climbed out of the fog long before getting to Hyllandsskaret and could thus enjoy the spectacular views. The views were of course made even more special by the dense fog covering the valleys below us. From there, the final distance to the summit was straightforward for more outstanding views. After lots of pictures we returned the same way >>>
