Too hot for extended hikes in Bergen at the moment, so I decided on cycling instead and completed a trip I had been thinking about for some time: cycling around Kalandsvatnet. Overall, a very nice trip that can be highly recommended with most of the cycling being on separate walking and/or cycling trails.

Another bike ride from Schloss Dagstuhl across Dilsberg, but this time continuing across the peak, ending up at Rathen, before following the main roads back to Schloss Dagstuhl. Beautiful with all the red leaves covering the tracks. Highly recommended! GPS refused to communicate, hence no GPS tracking.

Short cycling trip from Schloss Dagstuhl up to Dilsberg. Tractor road all the way to the top, but of very varying quality. The fact that there were more roads than the ones indicated on the map in the PB app also did not help. ;) GPS refused to communicate, hence no GPS tracking.

Short local bike ride around Eidsvågsneset, with a quick visit to Sandviksbatteriet . Note that the steep and bumpy gravel road up to Sandviksbatteriet is not really made for cycling though. ;)

Started from Lønborg following the marked cycling trail to Åsane around Eidsvågneset. Continued south to Gaupås/Haugland, along Kvamsvegen to Lono, and Hardangervegen towards Midtun, before turning north to Landås and taking Fjellveien to Munkebotn, and finally ending up where I started. A roundtrip that can be recommended as it mainly follows roads with limited traffic or designated cycling lines/sidewalks. The exception is the stretch along Grimevatnet, where one has to cycle on a road with heavy traffic, i.e. rush hours should be avoided.

Started from Lønborg following the marked cycling trail to Åsane around Eidsvågneset and onwards to Nordhordalandsbroen. Here I turned back, following the marked trail around Salhus taking me to Åsane terminal, before finally returning to the starting point. A route that can be highly recommended as it mainly follows roads with limited traffic or designated cycling lines/sidewalks. Rush hours should still be avoided though, especially around Salhus.
