I wished to explore the area of Nancy, not far from Kraslice/Graslitz. I parked at the moderately large parking lot in Nancy and then walked -- first along the road, then up the forest road that extends in parallel to Zinnerbach. Once "up on the heights", or so, I turned around, also since I did not have more time, and walked back the same route. Selected photos are available as Google photo album . Evening Ormhelleren

Given a likely rain-free evening, we headed out to Ormhelleren in the south of Rongøyna in Øygarden. We first explored the area around Hesthaugen before then testing the waters in the bay southeast of Hesthaugen. On the way back, an attempt to cross over Rongaloftet failed due to a lack of time, the trail leading towards the east (instead of the north), and the absence of a willingness for some evening bush war... Short visit to Lyseklosteret

After our exploration of Lysøya , we decided to also pay Lyseklosteret a short visit. All in all, this was no more than parking right next to the ruins, walking around them for a while, and then returning to the car -- always nice to look at Lyseklosteret, but not much physical activity! :-) Selected photos are available as Google photo album . Visiting the caves of Barać

As a nice early evening program, we made a detour to see the caves of Barać. After parking at the parking lot, we walked into the "cave area" and got thoroughly impressed by the amount of effort that someone had put into setting up everything and making the whole area nice! :-) Since none else was about to take a tour, we eventually, after a bit of waiting, got a tour of the upper cave just for the four of us -- that was nice (we were told that at other times, some groups would be as large as 50, which clearly sounded too large for this cave). Our tour guide showed us around in the cave and gave us ample time to shoot our photos (since photographing was only allowed without flash, it usually took a few tries before one photo came out reasonably). Exploring the city center of Sopron

We had some spare time in Sopron, Hungary, which we used to walk around the historic center of the town. This brought us by mighty city walls, long out of their original use, the central square, as well as some unexpected sights (such as Fekete Elefánt cégér). Morning walk in Odense

I was up early and had time to walk from downtown Odense to the University ( SDU , i.e., Syddansk Universitet). Starting from the main railway station, I first headed to Kongens Have, where I passed by Odense Slot. I then turned left to pass by H.C. Andersens Hus, before thereafter heading down to Odense Å at Brogade. From there, I basically followed the course of Odense Å upstream, passing through Eventyrhaven and then Munke Mose. Following Odense Å further upstream, I headed towards the Zoo of Odense. When I came to Erik Bøghs Sti, I followed it up to Langelinie. This street then brought me to Læssøgade, which I crossed to continue along Kaalundsvej. Via Skovgyden, I got to Hjallesevej, which I walked southwards only a short stretch to get into Bjørnemosevej.
