After a night of camping at Sandvika, the family (mom, son 10 and daughter 2) decided to make a 10 på topp hike up the Lakstinden. After walking from our tent spot to the start of the trail we had to open and duck under a little fence. Afterwards it was a bit of a muddy start followed by a very nice path up the side of the mountain. The views were amazing and after a couple of breaks to catch our breath we got up to the first level point. The flies were a bit annoying and the kids got bit by a few mosquitoes but otherwise it was awesome. After leveling out for a bit we crossed a small stream (with a bridge where our daughter started singing a song about trolls) we started the larger, steeper hike up the mountain. Skulsfjord-Kvaløyvågen-Eidtuva-Middagsfjellet

A wonderful trip on a well deserved day off. The hike from Skulsfjord to Kvaløyvågen has long been on my list of hikes i wanted to do. Finally, with a day off and no business that i had to do I was able to drop the family off at work/daycare and take off to the hills. The trip over started nicely as I passed by a herd of cows lazily laying in the semi sun. Afterwards another herd of cows blocked my path. After reasoning with them for maybe 10 minutes I was allowed to pass. The rest of the hike to Kvaløyvågen was pretty easy, considering, but the path became pretty muddy during the middle half. Towards the end it was a nice walk down to the fjord. Looking at how much time I had left i i decided to make my own trail and head for the nearest highest point I saw.
