BT-hytten and Vesetfjellet

A return to Mjølfjell to visit BT-hytten . I started from the train station and pretty much followed the marked trail all the way to the cabin, finally getting to use the bridge to Urlandsstølen (it had been taken down for the winter during my previous attempt, resulting in a rather long detour on my ascent of Nordbotnnuten ). After a couple of pictures of BT-hytten, I continued via a weak trail up to south/southeast of Vesetfjellet , with the trail completely disappearing along the way, and then completed the final off-trail distance to the summit. I visited both competing summits, plus a larger cairn further northwest, before returning to attempt to follow the weak trail east to Mjølbotnen .However, besides a single small cairn at the top of the pass, I did not see many traces of the trail, and instead simply found my own way. Hæreid and Aokanbu

A trip to Eidfjord to visit Aokanbu . To extend the hike, I however first followed the Hæreid round walk , which included great views , burial mounds from the Iron-and Viking ages, and a sandy beach along Eidfjordvatnet. After returning to the center of Eidfjord, I passed by Eidfjord gamle kyrkje from 1309, before following the marked route to Aokanbu. Excellent views from the cabin. Before heading to the bus stop at Kvamsdal pensjonat, I made a short detour to a football field where I had played in a kids tournament almost 40 years ago. All in all, a nice walk that can be highly recommended.

Cycling: Florvågøyna and Bakarvågneset

A return to Askøy to explore Florvågøyna and Bakarvågneset, inspired by Kjell's trip report . Once more I brought my bike but this time taking the boat to Kleppestø. First, I visited Øyarodden. Here it might be possible to cycle the whole way, however given the narrow trail I rather walked next to the bike for the final section. After returning to the road, I headed back to Florvågøyen parkering where I struggled to locate the trailhead, however the trail soon improved and could be easily followed to the highest point of Storhaugen . I returned the same way and continued north for a quick exploration of Bakarvågneset, before heading back to Kleppestø, where it was simply too tempting to take the boat instead of the long detour via Askøybroen.
