Biking to/from and hiking Parapluiberg

We had agreed to hike up to Parapluiberg from Perchtoldsdorf south of Vienna and I thought that I could equally well combine this plan with a bike-trip there and back. On my way there, I followed a route that brought me over Rosenhügel before bringing me via Mauer to Rodaun. Cycling up to the Bergkirche Rodaun, however, I misinterpreted my location and got stuck in the forest near Zugberg instead of continuing further to Perchtoldsdorf as planned! After some backtracking, however, I quickly corrected for this mistake and arrive at the Heideparkplatz above Berggasse with a delay of about 15 minutes. From there, we then walked up the Perchtoldsdorfer Heide, before continuing through the forest to the Franz Ferdinand Schutzhaus, enjoying some nice views from up there. Our next goal was then >>>

Lago di Erdemolo and Monte del Lago

There had to be time for at least one hike near Trento, given the we already had to travel there for a conference! We were recommended to visit Lago di Erdemolo and so we drove up to Frotten to park there. After first heading upwards a little to get around some construction work along the regular trail to Lago di Erdemolo, we then followed a forest road into the valley (in southeastern direction). At the end of the forest road, we crossed the stream and started the slightly steeper part of the ascent along a trail which started at the Monumento ai minatori (a remarkable sculpture to commemorate some miners). On this day of the conference, we decided to walk down to Trento (from Povo, a bit above Trento, where the conference happened). The bit of rain was actually fine, given the otherwise high temperatures. Also, it was nice to walk through the historic center of Trento once again!
