Skitour Halbmeile - Plattenberg, Erzgebirge (02.02.2019)

Another great cross contry ski tour in the Erzgebirge mountains.

First 3 km took about one and a half hour. There was no prepared track so I had to make progress in deep snow with 300 vertical m uphill on a forest road. A lot of trees were broken from the heavy snow and blocked the track. At the border to Czech republic I could be happy to ski on well prepared tracks in a winter-wonderland.

The tour continued at an elevation of about 1000 m where the snow was 1-2 meters deep. Eventually I reached Plattenberg / Blatenský vrch mountain where I had some lunch.

For the next hours i could enjoy the ski tracks on top of the Erzgebirge mountains with some nice downhill sections, but most of the time going in relative flat terrain.

Finally, the starting point of the tour was reached after something more than 6 hours. Since the unprepared track just after starting in the morning made me quite unlucky I didn't expect to make so many kilometers for the rest of the day.
