Alternative version of my usual cycling trip around Salhus, but this time taking a shortcut from Tellevik to Dalabygda in between Veten and Høgstefjellet . Note that the gravel road down to Dalabygda is not really cycling-friendly as it is too steep for normal cycling. But at least by going in this direction it is possible to stay on the bike for the whole trip, which is not really an option if going the opposite way.

Cycling: Barsnes toward Fimreite (with an abrupt ending...)

Today's plan was to cycle from Barsnes to Fimreite, perhaps also trying to visit Bjørnstigfjellet before returning. And it all started out very nicely with excellent cycling conditions, quickly making it to Kjørnes and the start of the old forest road towards Eide. The old forest road with its numerous roots was also easily traversed (with the exception of a short unnecessary detour towards the end). Now all that remained was to follow the limited-traffic paved road to Fimreite. Something I'd done several times before. However, in the second sharp bend down to Eide I suddenly felt my front wheel slipping on fine sand, and, no longer able to control the bike, ended up hitting and sliding along the pavement. Luckily my speed had not been very high, thanks to the very sharp bend, and I was thus not too badly >>>

Another bike ride from Schloss Dagstuhl across Dilsberg, but this time continuing across the peak, ending up at Rathen, before following the main roads back to Schloss Dagstuhl. Beautiful with all the red leaves covering the tracks. Highly recommended! GPS refused to communicate, hence no GPS tracking.

Short cycling trip from Schloss Dagstuhl up to Dilsberg. Tractor road all the way to the top, but of very varying quality. The fact that there were more roads than the ones indicated on the map in the PB app also did not help. ;) GPS refused to communicate, hence no GPS tracking.
