Four-day ice cap expedition on Oksfjordjokelen with 9 Trainee leaders and Mick Pawley. Day 1: From Base Camp in Sorfjorddalen via advanced Base Camp near Tentvatnet to first glacier camp about 900m on N edge of glacier. I led roped group following Mick’s party through crevasses. Day 2: Mick witdrew, leaving me in charge. We carried camp from Glacier Camp and set up at nunatak, at 954m ovelooking Isdalen. Day 3. Carried camp and traversed across highest part of Oksfjordjokelen to Loppatinden, where we set up camp and sunbathed. Day 4: Carried camp back to first glacier camp, with detour for a small party to nunatak and collected belongings left there. Cleared camps and took them down to edge of glacier to pass on to others who had come to take them. Returned to glacier camp collect personal gear from camp and carried this and other old expedition equipment down. Low cloud and rain and a very long day.
