Prospecting a better route on Tromtind (25.07.2023)

In 2022, we were beaten by Senja pa Langs as we battled down Tromdalen in floods and spates. There must be a better way. On 25/7/23 I went to find out. We booked in to DNT Senjabu.
From Senjabu, first went to visit the river crossing in Tromdalen that had been impossible the previous year. It was easy, and we had coffee sitting on stones in the middle. Then took to a steep untracked hillside through woodland and luxuriant vegetaion to Leirdalsheia. We split up here, Judith going directly to lake at 325m. I took E ridge to Trontind and descended by SW ridge to Leirskaret / Lairevaggi. It was clear this was readily accessible from Senja pa Langs. It would be a preferable alternative in poor weather. Descended to 325m lake and rejoined Judith. Returned to Senjabu via Daudmannsvatnet, three small lakes on 300m plateau and down better spur route to low ground, hence Senjabu.
