Note: There are currently (2025-2029) travelling restrictions in this area due to the upgrading of Blåfalli Fjellhaugen kraftverk , including the road to Vetrhus being closed. Petter picked me up very early Saturday morning and together we drove to Gjermundshamn for the 08:00-ferry to Årsnes. After getting across the fjord, we continued for around 50 minutes and were finally ready to start our hike from Blådalsvatnet at 09:15. We had both prepared by reading the trip reports from Rune and Geir and ended up following more or less the same route. Another ferry ride with Endre from Tørvikbygd to Jondal, this time with the goal to visit three peaks southeast of Kysnesstranda. Our plan was to drive as far up the gravel road of Kysnesstølsvegen as possible, but this turned out more difficult than expected. The first issue occurred when we tried to pay the toll fee, as this was done the old fashion way, i.e. no Vipps, and the pen needed to fill out the form did not work. However, when talking with one of the locals to try to solve the problem, we learned that we had a bigger problem: most of the road had been washed away by heavy rain. We should be able to drive the short distance around the next bend though, where there would be room to park. When the weather forecast suddenly promised blue sky and sunshine on Friday, while the upcoming weekend looked pretty bleak, I managed to clear the day of meetings such that I could take the day off and rather work during the weekend. Instead of heading to work Friday morning, I therefore embarked on the boat to Rosendal to ascend Melderskin . Around two hours later, I was ready to start my hike and now had just over 7.5 hours before the boat back. I followed the roads up to the marked trailhead for Melderskin and proceeded to follow the marked trail. Many of the markers had seen better days and were not always easy to spot, but overall they were not really needed anyway. Giljabotnnipa via Slettedalen

With the ascent of Blåfjellet , I only had one peak left on the Voss ≥ 100m pf. list , namely Giljabotnnipa . During our drive from Bergen, we had considered different routes to the summit, including a detour via Jordalsnuten (which Endre had not yet visited), but in the end decided to make our ascent from Slettedalen. We therefore parked at Brualøo parkering , paid the 100 kr fee via Vipps, and started northeast up the tractor road. It quickly became apparent that Endre was able to maintain a higher speed than me, hence we agreed to split such that he could also get the chance to visit Jordalsnuten. Basically, we would both use the same (or at least similar) routes to Giljabotnnipa, but where I would return the same way, he would continued southwest along the ridge, ending up at Jordalsnuten, before finally returning north to the parking lot. Blåfjellet from Vikjadalen

For almost a year, I had only two peaks left on the Voss ≥ 100m pf. list . So when Endre asked if I had any suggestions for where to go hiking this weekend, I knew what was at the top of my list. He was easily convinced and picked me up at my place at 07:00 the next morning. After a long drive from Bergen, and paying the 50 kr toll fee in Fresvikjordalen , we were finally ready begin our hike shortly before 10:00. First up was Blåfjellet . We drove to the end of the road in Vikjadalen and from there followed the most natural route to the summit, i.e., first up to the ridge east of Svelgavatnet, then southeast along the ridge, before finally turning southwest to the large summit cairn.
