Giljabotnnipa via Slettedalen

With the ascent of Blåfjellet , I only had one peak left on the Voss ≥ 100m pf. list , namely Giljabotnnipa . During our drive from Bergen, we had considered different routes to the summit, including a detour via Jordalsnuten (which Endre had not yet visited), but in the end decided to make our ascent from Slettedalen. We therefore parked at Brualøo parkering , paid the 100 kr fee via Vipps, and started northeast up the tractor road. It quickly became apparent that Endre was able to maintain a higher speed than me, hence we agreed to split such that he could also get the chance to visit Jordalsnuten. Basically, we would both use the same (or at least similar) routes to Giljabotnnipa, but where I would return the same way, he would continued southwest along the ridge, ending up at Jordalsnuten, before finally returning north to the parking lot. For almost a year, I had only two peaks left on the Voss ≥ 100m pf. list . So when Endre asked if I had any suggestions for where to go hiking this weekend, I knew what was at the top of my list. He was easily convinced and picked me up at my place at 07:00 the next morning. After a long drive from Bergen, and paying the 50 kr toll fee in Fresvikjordalen , we were finally ready begin our hike shortly before 10:00. First up was Blåfjellet . We drove to the end of the road in Vikjadalen and from there followed the most natural route to the summit, i.e., first up to the ridge east of Svelgavatnet, then southeast along the ridge, before finally turning southwest to the large summit cairn. Warning: This hike includes steep and rugged terrain. Please read the report carefully before deciding whether this is a hike for you. On a Sunday where the weather turned out much better than expected, Endre and I drove to Kvinnherad for an attempt at ascending four summits south of Maurangerfjorden. We found parking next to the gravel road at Kroka and could therefore start our hike from very close to the marked trailhead. The trail itself was marked with orange dots and took us relatively easy up to Heimadalen where the terrain levelled off. Before this, there were however several sections with some exposure that may not be to everyone's liking, although there were wires and ropes that could be used for extra safety. Petter and Fredrik picked me up at my place shortly after seven for the drive to Tørvikbygd and the ferry to Jondal. After crossing the fjord, we ascended to Dravladalsvatnet where we parked next to the marked trailhead for Saksaklepp and were shortly on our way up the well-marked trail towards the summit. Due to a relatively dense fog, the minor detour to Bjørnafetet was skipped, and a short descent later we could begin the final ascent to the summit, which was reached without any issues. From Saksaklepp we continued off-trail in the direction of Veranuten , largely following in the footsteps of Guttorm and his GPS track from 2023 , with some minor adjustments. On what would most likely turn out to be one of the last days of proper summer this time around, I managed to convince two of my colleagues (one former and one current) to join me on a hike to Gjønakvitingen , a peak that had been on my list for a while, but that is not easy to get to without a car. We left Bergen a bit after nine and after a drive of less than 1.5 hours we arrived at Gjøn where we parked at the first small parking lot marked for hikers and were ready to start hiking shortly after half past ten. I had read that there was an information sign at the trailhead and a marked trail all the way to the summit. We however failed to locate both the trailhead and the marked trail. With the 5G coverage also being far from perfect, and with no people around to ask, I largely had to rely on memory and went for the tractor road winding its way up >>>
