Trekking from the promontory Alnes via the plateau with the lake Alnesvatnet (254 m.a.m.s.l.) up to the summit Storhornet (257 m.a.m.s.l.), next down to a place called Djuv (which is not even a village, just two or three farms), and finally around the western aspect of the island, which is rather stony, has no real track or path that you might follow; and is quite challenging to walk.

I had yet one hiking trip on the mountain of Godøy island this day. The weather was foggy and cold, and it was quite a wet experience; but I really needed to combust some calories after I attended the celebration of my mother's 70th anniversary the previous day. I climbed up from the promontory Alnes, up to the peak of Storhornet, then descended on the other side of the island, down to a place called Djuv. From there I followed the sea shore of the southern and western side of the island, back to Alnes. Due to the rough terrain, this part of the trip was definitely the hardest, despite the fact that the route mostly follows sea level. Upon arrival at Alnes, I followed the seashore around the promontory, and even stopped to shoot some photos of the picturesque lighthouse that is there. This current lighthouse on Alnes was built in 1937, and replaced an older lighthouse from 1852 when it was built. The lighthouse is a steel construction dressed by planking and eternit, and is 22,5 meters high. I then passed even by the harbor of Alnes, and captured some pictures of the boats that were there, before returning to my car which I had parked on the parking lot just outside the tunnel leading to Alnes.
