Picota is 774 meters high, but steeper, and has broad and perhaps to even more beautiful views that take in a long sweep of the Algarve and the sea. `
There are many routes to choose from. The road to Marmelete traverses a landscape of terraced slopes fertile valleys and orchards, passing by the gigantic scar of the "foiaite" quarries at Nave.
